COMPANY HISTORY

ETC Directory Services & Publishing is an affiliate of ETC Communications, LLC, located in Ellijay, Georgia.  Founded in 1903, ETC has been a locally owned and operated telecommunications provider for over 100 years. ETC also provides Internet, Telephone, Cable Television, Security Systems, Professional Services and Directory Advertising.

For several years, the ETC phone directory was published by the A.L. Sewell Company. During the summer of 1999, ETC finalized acquisition of the A.L. Sewell Company and with their assistance, published the 2001 Directory.  The improved 2001 directory, with single and multiple color options, and color process yellow page advertising, proved to be a success – 64,000 directories were distributed!

ETC’s first solo effort the following year was also a huge success.  In June 2002, ETC distributed 70,000 directories within its distribution area, which ranged from Canton, Georgia to as far north as Copperhill, Tennessee.  ETC expanded its Directory enterprise during the summer and fall of 2002 by publishing directories for two other independently owned telephone companies.  ETC Directory Services publishes 10 other directories, in addition to our local directory.

The ETC Directory is published each June and contains 224 pages of residential and business listings for Gilmer, Pickens, North Cherokee, and Fannin counties in Georgia, and Copper Basin, Tennessee, as well as 144 magazine style yellow pages. In our community blue pages, we print customer service information, emergency numbers, post offices, zip codes, prefix guides and area code information.  The total number of directories printed in 2017, were 60,000.
